중국 남부에도 메뚜기떼 출현...번식기 맞아 확산 우려<br /><br />While swarms of locusts have been spreading in the Middle East and India in the past couple of weeks destroying crops,... a different breed has appeared in southern regions of China.<br />China's state-run CCTV reported that swarms of locusts appeared in southern Yunnan Province, damaging 103 square kilometers in four prefectures.<br />The report also said the locusts first appeared in late June, but is a different species from the desert locust that's been sweeping the Middle East, Pakistan and India.<br />Chinese authorities said they are using drones to fight off the locusts, and reassured the public that they will strengthen control as concerns rise over further summer breeding.<br />
