40도 폭염에 미 캘리포니아 남부서 산불 지속<br /><br />A massive wildfire in southern California has been burning for the past few days amid a scorching heatwave that has seen the mercury top 40 degrees Celsius.<br />Local authorities say low moisture and high temperatures have intensified the blaze.<br />The fire in Riverside County, among several wildfires across California, has burnt down more than 108 square kilometers of forest.<br />The fire broke out on Friday evening, local time, in Cherry Valley, a town located 137 kilometers from LA.<br />Around eight-thousand residents have been forced to evacuate, and five buildings had been destroyed, including at least one home.<br />Authorities said on Monday that the fire had been sparked by a malfunctioning diesel vehicle.<br />
