A full-grown male sambar deer was rescued from a deep well by forest officials in northern India’s Uttarakhand after it unwittingly fell.<br /><br />The incident took place on July 27 in the Rajaji National Park, Dehradun.<br /><br />Claustrophobic footage shows the deer stranded inside the narrow walls of a 12-foot-deep well, helpless, unable to escape.<br /><br />Forest workers were forced to use an excavator to demolish one of the walls, confining the animal and pave the way for its escape.<br /><br />Further footage from later in the scene, shows the animal fleeing after being released.
