Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm has filled two vacancies on the Michigan Court of Appeals. <br /><br />Cynthia Stephens of Detroit was appointed to the appeals court for the state's 1st District and is replacing Judge Helene White, who was recently appointed a federal judge. <br /><br />Douglas Shapiro of Ann Arbor was appointed to the appeals court for the 3rd District and is replacing Judge Michael Smolenski, who has resigned. <br /><br />Both their terms will expire January 1st, 2011. <br /><br />For more information click here
