New York City residents woke up confused after the city was left in darkness by power cuts on August 7.<br /><br />The filmer told Newsflare: "I was asleep and I heard sounds coming from the street of people saying it's a blackout. <br /><br />"I looked outside and it was pitch black. I've never seen anything like this in the 10 years I've been here. I went up to the rooftop and this is what I saw."
