Weather Experts Label 2020 Hurricane Season ‘Extremely Active’ The research team at Colorado State University (CSU) is <br />predicting 24 named storms before the end of the year. 12 total hurricanes and five major hurricanes <br />are currently expected, which is <br />double that of a normal season. Only 21 hurricane names are <br />allotted per year, with 2005 being<br />the only year on record to experience <br />an overflow with 28 named storms. CSU is also forecasting that the U.S. coast <br />will be hit by a Category 3 hurricane or <br />greater at some point in 2020. The current hurricane season <br />is already on record pace after <br />Hurricane Isaias made landfall <br />two weeks ahead of schedule.
