Londoners cooled off at the iconic Trafalgar Square fountains on 'Furnace Friday' (August 7) as temperatures in the UK's capital soared to 36C.<br /><br />Visitors were seen splashing themselves with the fountain water to try and cool down in the heat. An artist was spotted sketching with a towel on his head.<br /><br />Friday was the hottest August day the UK has seen since 2003.
