Wheelchair users travel more than 100 miles home during new Covid-19 lockdown in the Philippines

Five disabled wheelchair users had to travel more than 100 miles home due transport being closed during the Covid-19 pandemic.<br /><br />The five men were seen using umbrellas to keep out the sun while rolling along a road in Tarlac, the Philippines on August 1.<br /><br />Passerby Ike Nicdao said he felt sad when he passed the group so he asked them where they were going.<br /><br />Ike said that they told him the were from the province of Pangasinan and wanted to return home to their homes in Cainta - a journey of more than 100 miles. Tarlac, the place where they were seen, is around the half way point.<br /><br />Due to a renewed coronavirus lockdown all public transportation is temporarily prohibited, so they were forced to use their wheelchairs as transportation.<br /><br />Nicdao said: "They looked so tired and hungry. I also had nothing to give them when I saw them. So I recorded them so other people could see the struggle they are going through.''
