Around 10 countries yet to submit final reports on N.K. workers to U.N.: report

유엔 회원국, '北근로자 송환 보고서' 제출 실적 저조<br /><br />Around ten countries have yet to submit their final reports to the UN on the progress made repatriating North Korean workers in line with UN sanctions.<br />According to a report by experts for the UN Security Council North Korea sanctions committee, only about 40 out of the 50 countries turned in their final reports by the March 22nd deadline.<br />Under the UN Security Council resolution, all UN member states were required to send back North Korean workers by December 22nd, 2019.<br />Much of the workers' income is known to be extorted by the regime to develop nuclear weapons and conduct cyber attacks on UN member states.<br />The report also noted the sanctions had hampered international aid to the North, especially with restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.<br />
