With a novel coronavirus case count nearing five million, the United States now holds about a quarter of all the COVID-19 cases in the world.<br />According to CNN, more than,162,000 Americans have died in the pandemic so far.<br />As of this week, five states account for more than 40% of US infections: California, Florida, Texas, New York, and Georgia.<br />The pandemic shows no sign of slowing. However, that hasn't stopped the surge of school districts across the country from planning to re-open schools.<br />Likewise, the 80th annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota intends to go ahead. Normally, the event attracts hundreds of thousands of people.<br />While organizers say the event will be 'scaled down,' public health officials fear the virus will run rampant in bars, parties, and other gatherings.
