Local residents rushed to contain the oil spill that befell Mauritius after a bulk carrier run aground a coral reef on the island on July 25.<br /><br />Residents made makeshift absorbent barriers of straw-stuffed into fabric sacks in a bid to contain and absorb the oil. Some of the oil has already reached the coasts.<br /><br />This footage was filmed by @gregrouxel and @hugoclementk on August 8.
