I'm Kim Jae-hee.<br />Mauritius Prime Minister's office said on Monday... that oil leaking from a Japanese cargo ship that ran aground on a coral reef on the island nation's southeast coast on July 25th has stopped.<br />But the office added the situation remains "very serious", and said the island nation should prepare for the "worst case scenario".<br />The office explained the ship is still carrying two-thousand tons of oil in its two undamaged oil tanks.<br />The Prime Minister also said in a televised speech, that some cracks have been seen on the hull of the oil tanker, and warned it's clear that at some point, the ship will "fall apart".<br />More than one thousand tons of oil has already leaked out and been washed ashore, polluting the area.<br />Thousands of environmental activists and local residents are working to reduce the damage.<br />France has sent a military aircraft with pollution control equipment, and Japan has also sent a disaster relief team, consisting of six experts.<br />But some critics say the response measures came too late.<br />
