한미연합훈련 16∼28일 시행…오늘 사전연습 돌입<br /><br />The South Korean and U.S. militaries are scheduled to carry out their annual joint summertime exercise from August 16th to 28th.<br />Multiple South Korean military sources say the allies began four days of crisis management staff training on Tuesday preliminary training for the computer-simulated command post exercise.<br />This year's exercise has been scaled down due to the COVID-19 outbreak.<br />The simulations are aimed at improving joint defense posture of the two countries in the peninsula.<br />Conducting the exercises are to improve South Korea's state of readiness for the future transfer of wartime operational control from Washington to Seoul.<br />
