전 세계 코로나19 확진자 2000만명 돌파<br /><br />The world has reached the grim milestone of 20 million confirmed coronavirus cases and is edging closer to 750-thousand deaths globally.<br />That's according to figures from Johns Hopkins University.<br />The U.S. is the hardest hit country, followed by Brazil and India.<br />Jang Tae-hyun reports.<br />According to statistics from Johns Hopkins University on Tuesday Korea time, the number of coronavirus cases worldwide has surpassed 20 million with 733-thousand deaths.<br />Health officials believe that the actual number could be higher since not everyone has been tested and around 40 percent of those infected were asymptomatic.<br />Meanwhile, the WHO Director-General said Monday that it's never too late to get the outbreak under control.<br />"There are two essential elements to addressing the pandemic effectively. Leaders must step up to take action and citizens need to embrace new measures."<br />The United States, Brazil and India make up for around half of all infections around the world.<br />The U.S. has the most,... with more than five million cases and 160-thousand deaths.<br />Brazil has recorded over three million cases and 100-thousand deaths.<br />India is third with more than two-point-two million confirmed cases.<br />The country is struggling with fast spread of the virus and patients with severe symptoms have been unable to receive treatment due to a shortage of medical personnel and supplies.<br />South Korea saw 34 newly confirmed cases on Tuesday,... 23 local transmission and 11 imported.<br />Cluster infections at two churches in the city of Goyang in Gyeonggi-do Province have spread to a childcare facility and Namdaemun Market.<br />The total number of cases in the country stands at 14-thousand-660.<br />With no additional fatalities, the death toll remains at three-hundred-and-five.<br />Jang Tae-hyun, Arirang News.<br />
