Excited locals raced to collect hundreds of cans of beers that a lorry spilled onto the road.<br /><br />The delivery truck was driving on a steep slope when it toppled over in Sihanoukville province, Cambodia.<br /><br />Residents said the truck's tire slipped on the narrow road which was wet from a recent monsoon downpour.<br /><br />The driver battled to stay in control of the vehicle but rolled backwards and fell onto its side.<br /><br />He was unhurt but hundreds of cans of beer spilled from the truck - sparking a panic as neighbours rushed from their homes to loot them.<br /><br />Some of the locals carried sacks and boxes to take home as much as they could carry - before returning to grab even more.<br /><br />Traffic police arrived at the scene and stopped people from taking the booze before draping plastic sheets over the spillage to keep them away.<br /><br />The truck and the remaining beer cans were removed from the road a few hours later on the same day.<br /><br />Onlooker, Chan Thy, said: ''I didn't join in because I don't drink beer. But I watched people taking the cans. It reminded me of ants when sweet juice spilled on the ground.''
