Flash flooding cancels nearly 200 train services in Scotland

Heavily rainfall across Scotland has cancelled nearly 200 train services due to flooding and landslips on the line.<br /><br />Footage from Wednesday (August 12) shows flooded train tracks between Hartwood Train Station in Lanarkshire, on the Shotts Line between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh Waverley.<br /><br />Loraine Duncan, the filmer, told Newsflare: "Last night we experienced monsoon-like weather with over six hours of thunder and lightning and around two-three hours of rain. <br /><br />"The noise was like a train coming down the track as you approached and was fast flowing, where it was existing over the wall and down the fields."<br /><br />A major incident has been declared near Stonehaven after a passenger train derailed at about 09:40 on Wednesday morning.
