The Government aims to raise the production of the much sought after Bentong ginger to reduce imports.<br /><br />Currently, Malaysia imports about 30,000 tonnes of ginger from India, Thailand and China.<br /><br />13,000 tonnes of ginger is produced locally with more than half of that beieng grown from Bukit Tinggi.
