PAS secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan wants the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) to retract its comment denouncing a Terengganu Syariah court’s sentence to cane two women for lesbian activities.<br />Takiyuddin who is also Kota Baru MP said the Syariah court has the jurisdiction to punish Muslims found guilty under the Syariah law. <br />Last Sunday, the Terengganu Syariah High Court sentenced two women to six strokes of the cane and fined RM3,300 respectively after finding them guilty of having lesbian sex.
