Three scientists have won the Nobel Prize for Physiology and Medicine for their findings on how cells sense and adapt to oxygen availability.<br /><br />Sir Peter Ratcliffe of Oxford University worked alongside William Kaelin at the U.S. Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School and Gregg Semenza of Johns Hopkins University.<br /><br />Medicine is the first of the Nobel Prizes given each year.
