Hong Kong's health authorities have cautioned residents against steaming and reusing surgical masks as fears of a coronavirus outbreak have lead to a shortage of masks in the city.<br /><br />This was after a member of Hong Kong's Legislative Council, Ann Chiang, advocated the practice.<br /><br />Video obtained by Reuters taken on Friday (Jan 31) showed Hung Yat-Long, a Hong Kong resident, trying out the steaming method at home. <br /><br />He later told Reuters that it is completely useless and unhygienic.
