Deputy Rural Development Minister R. Sivarasa said Pakatan Harapan (PH) never made the promise to get rid of political appointees in government-linked companies (GLC).<br /><br />He said the PH’s manifesto stated that appointments in GLCs are based on merit and professionalism.<br /><br />He was asked to respond to comments made by Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (Ideas) senior fellow Dr Edmund Terence Gomez who said Dr Mahathir had a strong hold on the corporate sector following “covert” re-configurations after the change of government last year.
