A 35-year-old man had to be airlifted to safety by the Indian air force after becoming stranded in the middle of a flooded river in Chhattisgarh.<br /><br />The footage, filmed on August 17, shows the man clinging onto a bush as the helicopter slowly lowers down towards him.<br /><br />As the man is winched up, the onlooking crowd burst into applause and cheers.<br /><br />According to locals, the man was stuck there for almost 14 hours.
