I'm Kim Jae-hee.<br />Let's begin with the political chaos in Mali.<br />Mali's President and Prime Minister have been detained by rebel soldiers.<br />The two were reportedly taken on Tuesday... following the arrest of several military officers... after gunfire was heard at a military base in a town located near Mali's capital.<br />The arrest comes after weeks of demonstrations in the West African country... which called for the President's resignation... holding him responsible for the country's deteriorating economy and worsening security situation.<br />"I'm ashamed, too ashamed today to say that I am Malian. All the Malian people are tired, we have had enough."<br />"We proposed a good exit for the president but he didn't accept, The people of Mali support the army. They gave our trust."<br />The nation has spent years trying to stabilize the country since a coup in 2012.<br />The rebel soldiers' actions were cheered on by anti-government protesters, but were condemned by the African Union Commission.<br />
