There's good news for people who use the most commonly used medications for high blood pressure.<br />According to a new study, none of them increases the risk of depression. In fact, they may reduce it, or even prevent it.<br />The use of three classes of angiotensin agents, calcium antagonists, and beta-blockers was linked to a 15% decreased risk for depression.<br />UPI reports depression is common among patients with high blood pressure, heart disease, and stoke.<br />Inflammation also is common in patients with both high blood pressure and depression.<br />It is possible that the mechanism involved in decreasing the risk of depression is the anti-inflammatory effect among these nine medications.
