MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has rebutted Umno acting president Mohamad Hasan’s recent “penumpang” remark where he implied that there were too many non-Malay lawmakers in the Dewan Rakyat, saying that elected lawmakers of all races should be regarded equally.<br />Dr Wee said that in response to a reporter’s question, after MCA’s 70th anniversary celebration at the party’s headquarters on Saturday.
