Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Mohamed Hanipa Maidin told reporters on Thursday that <br />Putrajaya will not be declaring an emergency in Pasir Gudang as the Johor state government did not submit a request for the time being.<br /><br />Nevertheless, he added that the federal government is assisting Johor as if it was an emergency situation.<br /><br />A chemical dumping incident in Sungai Kim Kim has forced over 1,000 residents to seek medical attention.
