Al-sultan Abdullah Ibni Sultan Ahmad Shah was overcome by emotion when he paid a heartfelt tribute to his parents.<br /><br />In his first speech as the Ruler of Pahang on Tuesday, Sultan Abdullah said he felt humbled having inherited the throne from his father Paduka Ayahanda Sultan Ahmad Shah.<br /><br />Sultan Abdullah also appealed to the people to extend prayers for Sultan Ahmad Shah’s protection as well as to his late mother Almarhumah Tengku Ampuan Afzan.<br /><br />Sultan Abdullah’s consort Tengku Puan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Sultan Iskandar was also visibly moved and could be seen wiping away her tears.<br /><br />After composing himself, Sultan Abdullah continued his speech by thanking Sultanah Kalsom, his siblings and family members who had taken care of Sultan Ahmad Shah.<br /><br />He also called on the state leadership at all levels to serve the people with trust, responsibility and piety, saying that only a God-fearing leader would realise that every action and decision made would be taken into a
