서울 지하철•버스 기본요금 200∼300원 인상 추진<br /><br />Taking public transportation in Seoul is about to get a touch more pricey.<br />The city government and city council are pushing to raise minimum bus and subway fares by 200 to 300 won that's around twenty to thirty U.S. cents.<br />In addition, the current surcharge for each five kilometers is ten cents, but they are reviewing whether to raise that to 20.<br />The goal is to hike prices in the first quarter of 2021.<br />The Seoul subway system has been losing money due to policies such as free rides for elderly.<br />The COVID-19 pandemic has just made the financial problems worse.<br />The last increase to public transportation fares was in 2015.<br /><br />
