북한도 폭풍 대비: 북한, "태풍 '바비', 내일 오전 9시 평양 최대 근접"<br /><br />Typhoon Bavi is expected to hit North on Thursday morning as well.<br />The North is still trying to recover from this summer's massive floods.<br />Hong Yoo explains how the regime is preparing.<br />Typhoon Bavi is expected to hit the North Korean capital Pyeongyang on Thursday at around 9 AM.<br />By the time it hits Pyeongyang, South Korea’s meteorological administration says the storm will be fully developed.<br />The North’s state-run Korean Central News Agency reported Wednesday that the typhoon is expected to worsen the damage caused by the heavy rain early this month.<br />The regime’s leader Kim Jong-un held a politburo meeting on Tuesday to discuss measures to minimize the damage and to strengthen the regime’s measures against the pandemic.<br />Kim said that the ruling Workers’ Party has a responsibility to take care of its people by preventing casualties when the typhoon hits and to minimize damage to farmland.<br />He also ordered that loopholes be closed in the regime's disease prevention.<br />This was the seventh politburo meeting this year.<br />At each one, Kim Jong-un has sought to portray himself as a benevolent and responsible leader by taking on crises such as flooding, typhoons and COVID-19.<br />North Korea’s state-run newspaper, the Rodong Sinmun, said Wednesday that all Party members should get out of their offices and work actively to prevent damage from Typhoon Bavi.<br />They should also preemptively inspect areas likely to be damaged and alert residents to possible dangers.<br />Hong Yoo, Arirang News.<br />
