The American Academy of Sleep Medicine wants to eradicate daylight saving time for the sake of humanity.<br />Gizmodo reports the AASM says the twice-a-year shift in clocks not only inconveniences everyone but also increases health problems and car accidents.<br />They're not alone. Gizmodo reports that in 2020 alone, US lawmakers in at least 32 states introduced legislation to abolish it.<br />A recent study found that the first week of daylight saving time in the spring was associated with a greater number of fatal car crashes.<br />The same study also estimated that ending Daylight Savings Time would have prevented more than 600 deadly accidents over a 22-year span.
