Thousands of women took to the streets of Minsk in Belarus on Saturday (August 29th) to call on President Lukashenko to resign in the wake of this month's disputed election.<br /><br />Wrapped in the red-and-white flags which have become an opposition symbol, the protesters sang, held flowers and chanted slogans calling for an end to his 26-year, authoritarian rule.
