A five-year-old leopard trapped near a paddy field was rescued by the forest department in western India's Maharashtra state. <br /><br />The rescue operation was carried out on August 29 in Khawadkarwadi village in Lanja near Ratnagiri, under the guidance of the Divisional Forest Officer.<br /><br />The video from the rescue operation shows forest officials cautiously leading a cage towards the trapped leopard. <br /><br />They attempt driving the leopard out of its entrapment by nudging it by making use of wooden sticks.<br /><br />In a few attempts the leopard is forced into the cage successfully and the shutter is dropped down.<br /><br />The whole operation was carried out over a period of an hour. <br /><br />Upon complete medical examination, it was later released into the wild in Chandoli sanctuary.
