Former White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney plans to launch a hedge fund focused on financial-sector stocks.<br />The firm is named Exegis Capital.<br />Mulvaney talked about the fund on S&P Global's "Street Talk" podcast.<br />He said the fund will leverage Mulvaney's experience in government to find opportunities linked to legislation and regulation.<br />He added that investors "like to think the market moves on fundamentals" but policy out of Washington plays an increasingly important role.<br />Mulvaney is now serving as special envoy to Northern Ireland.<br />He aims to open the fund on January 1 with investing veteran Andrew Wessel.
