Summer’s nearly over. Now, the COVID-19 pandemic and the impending influenza season has public health experts warning of a 'twindemic' effect.<br />According to HuffPost, such an event could sicken the population and overwhelm hospitals.<br />While the world waits with bated breath for a COVID-19 vaccine, people won't have to wait for the readily available annual flu shot.<br />The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone over six months old get a flu shot in September or October, especially seniors.<br />People 65 and older don’t build up the same level of immunity, and might not have immunity for as long as younger people generally have.<br />Seniors also require a high-dose vaccine, which is available wherever you get your standard flu shot.
