A four-storey building collapsed in western India's Mumbai leaving debris scattered across a road.<br /><br />Locals watched on as officials cleared up the rubble after the building fell apart on September 2.<br /><br />The 25-year-old residential building was redeveloped in 2009 but major cracks were spotted almost two years ago.<br /><br />The Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation declared the structure dangerous and evacuation notices were issued to all 20 flat owners. <br /><br />While 15 of them moved out, 22 people of the five families stayed in the building.<br /><br />Following the collapse, the area was cordoned off and a fire brigade team reached the spot promptly to initiate a search and rescue operation. <br /><br />Several electricity poles were brought down by the collapse and affected the power supply in the area. <br /><br />No casualties have been reported.
