A first look at SHOTCUT, the free and open-source video editing software. I heard about Shotcut in passing but never gave it a second look. In this video I install Shotcut for the first time and run through the basic functions to see if it's any good. I was NOT disappointed! I hesitate a few times and make some beginner mistakes. This is an honest first use of Shotcut so I had no idea where stuff was!

Watch my video to see how I create a simple video with some imported clips, a title and export it for YouTube in MP4. Shotcut is completely free and could give DaVinci Resolve and other programs a run for their money!

Chapters/Bookmarks:

00:00 Introduction
01:04 Installing Shotcut
02:10 Running Shotcut for the first time
02:33 Choosing project format and resolution
03:03 Interface overview
03:30 Importing a videoclip
04:45 Adding clips to the timeline
07:48 Adding audio files to project
09:06 Adding filters or titles to clips in the timeline
13:39 Exporting the file to MP4 for YouTube from Shotcut
16:00 Previewing the quality of the resulting video
16:39 Conclusion

Shotcut has an impressive set of features, it supports 4K video, lots of audio and video, filters and effects, and exports to most video formats you'd need.

Download Shotcut for Free from:
https://shotcut.org

Graphicious website and blog:
https://graphicious.co.uk

Graphicious on Facebook:
https://www.facebook.com/graphiciousdesign

#shotcut #freevideoeditor #videoediting
