Human rights watchdog recommends foreign ministry to improve 'shortcomings'

인권위 "뉴질랜드 외교관 행위는 성희롱...외교부 처리 미흡"<br /><br />South Korea's human rights watchdog has recommended that the foreign ministry improve certain "shortcomings" revealed in its handling of the diplomat sexual abuse case.<br />The National Human Rights Commission gave a nonbinding recommendation on Wednesday...for the ministry to create a concrete investigation procedure manual for sexual harassment cases.<br />It also calls for the diplomat to pay the victim a certain amount in compensation.<br />A former local employee at the South Korean Embassy in Wellington accused a Korean diplomat of groping him on three occasions in 2017. The case then resurfaced after New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern raised the issue with President Moon Jae-in earlier this year.<br />
