For years, public school teachers have been digging into their own pockets to make up for school supply shortfalls.<br />Impoverished school supply budgets and ill-equipped students, combined with demanding performance standards, leave teachers with little choice.<br />And according to HuffPost, it appears the COVID-19 pandemic has made things even worse.<br />Teachers who are still teaching in brick-and-mortar schools are personally supplying masks and hand sanitizer to keep their classrooms safe.<br />Teachers who are working remotely are coughing up thousands for new computers, office furniture, and professional subscriptions geared toward digital learning.<br />And despite the unprecedented strain on their budgets, for many teachers, there isn’t much relief in the way of reimbursements or tax write-offs.
