This is the shocking moment a car rammed through protesters in Times Square, New York, on Thursday night (September 3).<br /><br />The Black Lives Matter march was protesting against police brutality when the vehicle emerged on the road in heavy rain shortly after 8 pm.<br /><br />It appeared to be blocked from moving forwards before accelerating through the crowd of people then speeding away.<br /><br />Dozens of demonstrators were gathered at the Crossroads of the World point while chanting ''No justice, no peace.''<br /><br />Onlookers said the car honked repeatedly at the Back Lives Matter protesters before smashing through them.<br /><br />They then responded by hurling bikes at the vehicle, kicking the bodywork and chasing after it.<br /><br />Police said in a statement: ''There is an ongoing investigation into an incident in Times Square involving a black Taurus sedan. <br /><br />"This auto is NOT an NYPD vehicle.''
