Officials have seized 500 kilograms (1,102 lbs) of marijuana from a container truck in southern India's Kerala.<br /><br />On September 6, the Thiruvananthapuram range excise officials received a tip-off about the smuggled contraband worth Rs 20 crore (USD 2,727,304).<br /><br />Following this, they intercepted the bootleggers on the National Highway at Korany near Attingal in Thiruvananthapuram.<br /><br />According to officials, the truck was travelling from Mysuru through Kannur and distributing the substance across the state.<br /><br />Footage from the seizure show several packets of the marijuana being removed from a hidden chamber above the driver's cabin.<br /><br />The state excise enforcement squad led by T Ani Kumar, Circle Inspector, Excise Enforcement and Anti Narcotic Special Squad arrested the driver and the cleaner of the truck. <br /><br />The arrested are Krishna Yadav, a native of Jharkhand, and Kulwant Singh, a native of Punjab residing in Telangana. <br /><br />Their vehicle was also seized by officers.
