A road collapsed and slid down the hill after a heavy rain in southern Thailand.<br /><br />Parts of the road on the island of Phuket were eroded following the storm. <br /><br />The ground finally gave way and caused a landslide and massive traffic jam during the morning rush hour on September 8.<br /><br />No one was reported hurt from the landslide, but the damaged route is expected to take a several weeks before being fixed.<br /><br />Local mayor Chalermlak Kebsub arrived at the scene and instructed the staff to block to damaged lane, which is about 300ft long, before informing motorists to avoid the route.<br /><br />He said: "We need a well-organized plan to fix the road and all the big trucks will not be allowed to drive through the area during these times."<br /><br />Thailand is in the peak of its annual rainy season that sees regular tropical storms until cooler weather arrives towards the late October.
