A father and son in Indiana were left horrified after a parasitic horsehair worm wriggled from out of a cricket's corpse after the insect was trodden on.<br /><br />Footage filmed by Joe Rish shows the parasite frantically wriggle out of the dead insect's body.<br /><br />Rish told Newsflare: "My father accidentally stepped on a cricket in the garage and then we saw the worm come out."<br /><br />The horsehair worm takes control of insects' brains and effectively forces them to drown themselves so the parasite can return to water.<br /><br />This footage was filmed on September 8.
