A wealthy businessman has donated a four-metre tall Spider-Man statue to be displayed inside a Buddhist temple in Thailand.<br /><br />Buddhist monk Boonlerd Techapayo said the millionaire gave the 2,000lbs model to the Wat Tham Khao Pina temple in Trang, southern Thailand, last week.<br /><br />Footage shows priests and Buddhist devotees converging on the impressive sculpture while a boy touches the Spider-Man figure to compare his size with it on September 10, days after it has been installed on the place of worship.<br /><br />Monk Boonleerd said the businessman, who wants to be anonymous, believes that giving a replica of the iconic Marvel Comics cartoon character is "of the greatest holy virtues" he could do.<br /><br />He said: "It is like a strategy to welcome more people to visit the temple. All ages can pray and practice the dharma anytime."<br /><br />The Spider-Man, or Spiderman, superhero figure inside the temple continues to attract visitors and tourists who are curious to see the unusual statue inside the religious place.
