Police officials in southern India's Telangana used a digger to rescue a dog that had become stranded by an overflowing reservoir.<br /><br />The rescue operation was carried out on September 16 at Kesari Samudram Reservoir in the Nagarkurnool district.<br /><br />Footage from the rescue operation shows Mujeeb, a Home Guard Officer risking his own life to save the helpless animal.<br /><br />Mujeeb can be seen in the bucket of the excavator moving closer to the dog. He lowers himself into the fast-flowing water to draw the dog into his arms while holding onto a thick cable to prevent being swept away by strong currents. <br /><br />Mujeeb and the rescued dog are then brought onto the safe ground while a group of onlookers gathered at the scene cheer to celebrate the operation.
