Roads were flooded in northern Thailand today (September 18) as Typhoon Noul brought heavy rain to the country.<br /><br />Footage from Khon Kaen province around 450 kilometres northeast of the capital Bangkok shows drivers battling through the deluge, which swamped roads and homes and was more than a metre deep in some places. <br /><br />Many restaurants and shops used bags of sand to shield properties from the surge. <br /><br />The Thailand National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting warned of winds of up to 160 kilometres per hour.
