A new beach in Manila has come under fire as a government beautification project is said to threaten local marine life.<br /><br />Footage, filmed on September 18, shows many flocking to the new hotspot to document the finishing touches being made to Manila Bay's new white sand beautification project.<br /><br />The Department of Environment and Natural Resources have used dolomite sand that is usually used in construction work.<br /><br />According to local reports, the sea was polluted prompting a rehabilitation effort, but environmentalists say the use of dolomite sand will further threaten local marine life.
