CNN is reporting that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died.<br />The court announced that she passed due to complications of metastatic pancreas cancer.<br />She was 87 years old.<br />Ginsburg was appointed in 1993 by President Bill Clinton.<br />In recent years served as the most senior member of the court's liberal wing.<br />She consistently delivering progressive votes on the most divisive social issues of the day.<br />She was instrumental in protecting abortion rights, same-sex marriage, voting rights, immigration, health care and affirmative action.<br />"Our Nation has lost a jurist of historic stature," said Chief Justice John Roberts. <br />President Donald Trump and the Republican controlled senate now have less than 50 days to confirm a new justice before the November 3rd election.
