As of Sunday night, TikTok and WeChat will be banned from U.S. app stores.<br />This is according to the country's Commerce Department on Friday.<br />Users who have already downloaded the TikTok app will be able to continue using it, but new downloads and updates will be prohibited.<br />That is, until November 12th, when it's likely to be fully banned.<br />The department said the order aims to combat China's "malicious collection of American's personal data".<br />TikTok expressed disappointment, and said it will continue to challenge the unjust ban.<br />WeChat's owner said the restrictions were "unfortunate", but said it will continue talks with the U.S.<br />China's Commerce Ministry opposed the U.S. decision on Saturday, and warned of necessary measures in response.<br />
