A decommissioned warship caused traffic jams while being transported from a pier to its resting place.

The Thai military Patrol Boat 91 or "Tor 91" was carried by a lorry to the park in Chonburi, eastern Thailand on September 16.

Concrete footbridges even had to be dismantled so the enormous battleship could pass through.

The vessel was the country's first domestically-built modern navy ship and will go on display to the public on September 27 at the Dongtan Gulf Historical Park near the Royal Thai Fleet headquarters.

The Thai King Rama IX helped to design the vessel and was inspired by a similar ship he saw during a trip to Germany. He named the patrol boar "Rue Khong Phor" or "The King's Ship."

Rue Khong Phor served the navy for more than 50 years before retiring from action to give way to newer models joining the navy fleet.

The Tor 91 was first commissioned in 1968 and was decommissioned on September 26 last year.
