Federal Government announces reforms to credit protection laws

The Federal Government is proposing changes to credit laws to make it easier for people to borrow money. The Government says given the current recession, borrowers need faster access to credit and banks should have less responsibility for checking their customers can re-pay their loan. But the idea has horrified some consumer advocates who say it ignores the lessons of the banking royal commission.
